Division Overview

The former Division of Innovative Research for Drug Development, the Institute for Academic Initiatives has become the current Drug Discovery Science Division, the Institute for Open and Transdisciplinary Research Initiatives. It will serve as a hub for activities in implementing drug discovery-related research across multiple faculties and specialties.

The Drug Discovery Science Division consolidates information fundamental to Osaka University’s drug discovery science research—such as information about diseases, materials, and analytical techniques—as well as formulates plans to increase the potential for drug discovery research and develop an environment that facilitate access to technical guidance and advice for research into the application of drug discovered science. This forms a part of implementing drug discovery aimed at giving back the results of basic research to society.
